The fine print

Cookie Policy

The few cookies and on-device storage Pwesto uses, what each one does, and how you control them.

Updated

The short version. Pwesto uses only essential cookies, to keep you signed in and to protect sign-in. No ads, no analytics, no tracking across sites. Nothing here is optional, so there's nothing to switch off. If we ever add optional cookies, we'll ask you first.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website saves in your browser. Similar technologies, like local storage and a service worker cache, also save data on your device. This policy covers all of them.

Cookies we use

Cookie What it does Type How long
better-auth.session_token Keeps you signed in, so you don't log in every visit Essential 7 days, renewed while you use Pwesto
better-auth.state Protects Google sign-in from forged requests Essential Up to 10 minutes, during sign-in only

On our secure (HTTPS) site, these names start with __Secure-, which tells your browser to send them only over encrypted connections. Both are first-party and HTTP-only: Pwesto sets them, and scripts on the page can't read them.

We rely on our contract with you and our legitimate interest in keeping accounts secure, not on consent, because these cookies are strictly necessary for Pwesto to work.

Storage on your device

Where What it does How long
Local storage: pwesto:cookie-notice Remembers that you closed the cookie notice Until you clear site data
Service worker cache Stores the app's own files so Pwesto opens with no signal Until the next app update, or you clear site data
On-device database Holds your shop data and sales so you can sell offline Until you clear site data or uninstall

What we don't use

  • No analytics or audience-measurement cookies.
  • No advertising or retargeting cookies.
  • No social media pixels or third-party trackers.
  • No third-party font services. Our fonts load from our own server.

When you choose "Continue with Google", Google may set its own cookies on its own website. Google's cookie policy covers those.

Your choices

Essential cookies are needed to sign in, so Pwesto has no switch to turn them off. You can still block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but then you won't be able to sign in. Clearing site data also deletes any unsynced sales on that device, so sync first.

The first time you visit, we show a short notice about these cookies. Closing it only hides the notice. It doesn't change what's stored.

If we ever add optional cookies, such as analytics, we'll ask before setting them, with "Accept" and "Decline" given equal weight. You'll be able to change your mind at any time.

Changes

Whenever the cookies we use change, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
